NZ soprano Joanne Roughton-Arnold comissioned a powerful one-woman chamber opera by Gillian Whitehead and Fleur Adcock, based on the life of celebrated New Zealand writer and feminist, Robin Hyde, in 2015.
A stellar line-up of NZ and UK talent came together to bring the world premiere to the 2016 Grimeborn Festival at London's Arcola Theatre.
The New Zealand premiere took place before a near capacity audience at Nelson's Theatre Royal as part of the 2017 Adam Chamber Music Festival. Joanne Roughton-Arnold collaborated with the NZ Trio in a special adaptation of the work.
"An unforgettable highlight... A superb operatic performance that deserves to be repeated throughout New Zealand"
